The Education principal of the school may be summed up in the following quotation from Plato; "The healthy being himself a creature of unknown capacities in an unknown world, wants to know what the world is like, and what he should do in it" To help in answering these question is the ones and the only purpose of Education. By Education we mean a man passionately desire to be a perfect citizen, and teaches him how to rule and to obey with justice. This is the only education which deserve the name. The other sort of training which aims at the acquisition of wealth or bodily strength is not worthy to be called education at all. In this school we are not concerned merely with the accumulation of knowledge, or the reading of a set number of books or the passing of examinations, but with the integration and training of a personality into a character and not merely good individual character. Our aim is to build those characters into a living community. The School, managed so long by the Society of St. John the Evangelist, better known as the Cowley Fathers is a Christian School. It offers a sound all round training for children of all communities and all social levels. One of the prime duties of the school is the all-round education of the poor in its charge and a charitable attitude is expected from all who live, learn or have interest in the school. Before therefore seeking admittance to, or employment in the school for themselves or their children, people should be quite clear in their minds, as to what their duty will be if they enter St. Peter's School.
